The Secret Garden - Summary

 

I choose one character who is Colin. He is Mr.Craven’s son. Mr.Craven has a crooked back, also Colin thinks that he will have a crooked back like his father. He thinks he will die soon. So he is always a fussy child because of his illness he is thin. However thanks to Mary, he comes to know about a secret garden and to play outside and to breathe fresh air, and then Colin is getting to recover a health more and more. At last, Colin can walk like other people. Before Colin had a bad-temper due to his illness, but after his life became more exciting. For him, he has new friends who are Robin, Mary, Ben, Dickon and so on. Finally, he changed incredibly.

           First, I read this book it was so exciting that Colin had changed gradually. Mary was young child still, but Mary helped Colin, I was shocked about Mary’s action. Mary and Colin were the same person. They didn’t have a chance to play with other people and to meet someone. Thanks to Mary, he went outside first and had new friends. For me, I think a character of Colin will be too many in the present. These days, a couple working is growing more and more. I think this book will help many couples work. Mary and Colin’s actions maybe will give a help to many children of working parents.

Pohang Attractions

“Pohang is a city in North Gyeongsang province, south Korea, and a main seaport in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region”(Wikipedia). So there are a lot of beaches and harbors in Pohang. Whenever I visit Pohang, I always visit one restaurant. The name is Hwanyeo sushi restaurant. A ‘Hwanyeo Sushi Restaurant’ is called a famous tourist attraction and famous restaurant in Pohang. Many visitors surely visit Hwanyeo Sushi Restaurant. The representative food of Hwanyeo Sushi Restaurant is mul-hoe(Cold Raw Fish Soup) and hoedeopbap(Rice with Sliced Raw). In Pohang, also Jukdo market is one of the largest traditional markets in the Eastern coast of Korea. Whoever loves sashimi and seafood knows about Jukdo Market. This market is always selling a lot of food, seafood, dried seafood, clothing, and goods. This market does not only have sea food, agricultural products, fruits and vegetables, rice, clothing, shoes but also hanbok. “Nearby restaurants sell quality sashimi dishes at incredibly low prices and in the wintertime visitors can get a taste of Gwamegi, a local specialty of the Pohang area”(Inferences).

Pohang Attractions Comparison to Seoul

If there is the biggest Jukdo Market which sells a lot of seafood in Pohang, there is the biggest Bang-San Market which sells several of packing materials in Seoul. There are two different factors to each other. Jukdo market sells a variety of foods more than Bangsan market. Bangsan Market is the biggest traditional market located in Jung-gu, Seoul. The market sells ingredients to make something. They are for example, baking materials, candles, and packing materials. In my opinion, many people visit Bangsan market on anniversary. Many patissiers love to go to the market. In my opinion, I like Bangsan market more than Jukdo market because I don’t like eating seafood. However, Jukdo market is bigger than Bangsan market. I have never been to Bangsan market, but I want to visit Bangsan market on Christmas Day.

My hometown is Mok-dong. “Mok-dong is a dong, neighborhood of Yangcheon-gu in Seoul, South Korea.”(wikipedia.org) Mok-dong is a place to come for many parents who have children. The enthusiasm for children’s education in Mok-dong is very high. I think the reason is that many schools and academies are in Mok-dong, and it will help their children enter a good university.  Mok-dong is a famous region for many parents, so Mok-dong is one of the best towns in Seoul. There is also a baseball field in Mok-dong. In our country, we have nine professional baseball teams. One of them is a Mokdong baseball field in my hometown. In Korean professional baseball, there is the home team for each region. The home team of Mok-dong is the ‘Nexen Heroes’. Many people who live in each region come to Mok-dong in order to cheer for Nexen Heroes and watch a baseball game. In the present, Nexen Heroes is ranked number two in nine professional baseball teams. I proud of it myself as Mok-dong resident.
There has been a baseball stadium in Mok-dong. ‘Mokdong Baseball Stadium is a stadium located in Seoul, South Korea.’ (Wikipedia.org) Nowadays Nexen Heroes have always been good at baseball game in professional baseball teams. Especially in these times, thanks to a grade of Nexen Heroes, many people have visited Mok-dong. Our family loves to watch a baseball game, so we have frequently been to a Mokdong baseball stadium. Especially, my experience about Mokdong baseball stadium has been many times. First, it is taking pictures with baseball players. How to take a picture with baseball player? First, you have to wait for a baseball player who wants to take a picture before the start of a game. When he got off the club bus, I have asked a baseball player to take pictures together quickly. Most players have taken pictures with me gladly. As a result, I have known one baseball player for many years. Every time I went to a Mokdong baseball stadium, I have taken pictures and greeted him. For me, Mok-dong and Mokdong baseball field has brought happiness.

My Last Summer Vacation

 

Last summer vacation, I got up late and did nothing much all day. I just sat in front of TV all day. Sometimes I worked part-time at a department store. Also, I was shopping with my mom. For me, here were some of the most important times than something else. I had a great time on my vacation. First, I thank my family of a treasure, so we always went out. For example, on a rainy day, we always drove close at hand. My father and brother hated to go out on a rainy day, but my mom and I loved a rainy day very much. My father and brother were thoughtful men, therefore my mom and I always thanked them. I came to Kyong ju because of my university, so I loved to hang out with my family on last summer vacation. My family was the most important thing in my life. Therefore, my vacation is equal to my family.

My Introduction

 

Let me introduce myself. My name is Noh Young Seung, and I'm 21 years old. My family is 4 and I'm from Seoul, in Mok-Dong. I like to play with my friends, but I love my family. Seoul is a very fantastic city. I really like Seoul because of lots of foods, exciting places, and so on. My family is the best, they are precious people, so I always enjoy spending time with my family. We often travel around Seoul to eat at famous restaurants. The places are mostly Hong-Dae, Mok-Dong, and Sam-Chung-Dong.
